I have created a custom cd with different songs in mp3 format. How do I get the name of the songs to appear automatically when I insert the cd in any computer?
Thanks,
newtechie

I've created 100's of Audio CD's with Nero & none of them display the Artist & Track name. Am I missing something? When popped into my computer it just shows Track 1,2,3,etc..

I'm not 100% sure that you can do this. I know if you make an MP3 disc you can have artist and track name. But I think making an audio cd from mp3's or another format will be the same as an album bought from the shop. The only way you will be able to see what each track is called if it's put in your pc and connected to an online database. I may be wrong but I have a feeling it can't be done.

Weazel - Your reply is conflicting in the last 2 sentences. You're saying it can be done, then you said you don't think it can be done. I have made MANY custom cds and none of the information is pulled from the internet. Unless you're saying to submit the tracks and artists to the online database?? Usually the services ask that you don't do that because it's a cd created by the user.
I'll try making a mp3 disc and see what happens. Thanks for your reply.

Im confusing myself aswell. I'll try and make it easier for myself and others. If you make an audio cd from mp3's and then you play it back say in a dvd player which supports track names I don't think it will have the track names listed it will say something like "Artist - Track 1" as so on till the last song. Where as if you put it in a pc, play it in a media player there's a chance that an online database will find the track names and list it.
Where as with an MP3 cd if you play it back on a system which supports MP3 discs it will list the track names as how it is tagged on a pc. eg. Eminem - Just Lost It. If that is what the ID tag is like on the pc then it should display that when played back.

Hey Weazel - I made a mp3 disc and the names did appear when I inserted the disc. It doesn't seem to work with a custom audio disc.

you guy might wanna check see if you file name contains artist and song title, and the id tag info is filled in
most of the time i burn audio cd's with Nero using the mp3 files - Nero does the decoding and burning in one - for compilation cd's for in the car.

Ok - how do I check to see if info is in the ID tag? What if it's already there, then what?
Are you making an mp3 disc or audio disc? There a difference between the two.
Thanks again
