Just wondering if anyone has already tried to back these up.
I normally just use DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD2.
Will I be okay or will I need to use DVDFab instead?
Hope it's okay to ask. I'll be backing mine up tonight and was just wondering if these were giving any problems before I start my normal means of backing up.
Thanks again, members.

Thanks 9mm. I hadn't checked that forum since I really don't use Shrink. I've been getting by using just DVD Decrypter (or DVDFab) and CloneDVD2. From the sounds of things, I should be just fine!! Thanks for the quick response!!

War Of The Worlds has no special protections on it, I ripped it with DVD Decrypter via File Mode into hard drive flawlessly. Encoded it with Nero Recode 2 with "Advanced Analysis" and burned it with Nero Burning Rom beautifully (using 16X Verbatim DVD+R "Advanced Azo," but burned at 4X Book Typing to DVD-ROM).

War of the Worlds has protection, But nothing that DVD 43 and DVD Decrypter can't fix.

Used DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter on Polar Express (took less than 45 min w/ no probs) Haven't bought W.o.t.W. yet so can't answer that one. Good luck.

Nothing like that came up for me. I set DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter according to ScubaPete's instructions and they work like a charm. You might run a search for ScubaPete's instructions in the Guides portion of AD. Good luck. Go TTU and Texas.

Yes, redo it and use the Quality Settings. Select both options if available.

Use a good condition source disk, make sure there are no smudges and polish with a soft cloth, and quality media to record to. Also, if you're doing Full Disc backups, you can check in the Shrink forum on how to edit in Full Disc. If they can't help you, PM me and we'll start a thread. Rules against personal tutoring in PMs. ;)
In reference to your problem, compression issues sometimes cause flaws in the backup that will make it hang. Not saying that's your problem for sure, but it does happen and that's what the quality settings are for, better transcoding at higher compression. It slows down the process, but you have a better quality output. Bad media and dirty or scratched discs can have their effects as well.

The best bet for doing the large movies is to learn how to use RB/CCE or RB (Rebuilder) with one of the other encoders or transcoders it supports, like the free HC encoder. It takes a while, but nothing beats RB with CCE for encoding.

I did all that to begin with and the original was a new movie. Should I set the video conpression to a higher setting?
