So I updated Azureus last night from 2.3.0.5 to 2.3.0.6. Huge mistake apparently... it worked beautifuly before this, never gave me any problems. I forwarded all the ports I needed, 6881-6999 or whatever it was. Always got green smiley faces. But here lately azureus will run for like 5 minutes, just fine, then it'll stop everything. My connection just dies. I have to restart my comp to get it back. I can't access webpages or IM or anything. Anyone know what's up with it? I tried following the suggetsions listed on this page http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/PortForwarding and http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/PortIsBlacklisted. I changed the ports I'm forwarding like it suggested and that seemed to help a little then it went back to do the same thing all over again. When I fire up azureus, at the bottom it shows a green and a yellow circle. The yellow one says "There appears to be a problem with the Distribution Database's UDP port mapping (NAT)". I don't get it... how can I get green smiles and still have problems? *sighs* Anyway... if you guys can suggest something to help I'd greatly appreciate it...

You guys all need to redownloaded 2.3.0.4 like I did. Just grab that from their website, reinstall over the new version and when it asks you up to update tell it to go to hell. I did so and It's working fine again...

Also having problems:
Terribly slow download speeds. Used to be able to download around 50-60 Kbps (all torrents combined) with 2.3.0.4, XP SP2. Now I can erratically reach 20-30 with very brief peaks of 40.
In the statistics graphic, the upload speed is shaped like a handsaw. It used to be extremely stable around my limit (around 25 Kbps)

Does anyone know what causes this?

How can I go back to 2.3.0.4 without loosing my configuration, plugins, etc.?

I've been having the same problems since the update. It's taking nearly an hour just to check the torrent before it starts downloading. I'm going to reinstall the older version now, hopefully that fixes everyrthing

That's where all of my NAT errors started. I was getting ok on the NAT test but once I installed the upgrade everything went to "crap!"
I spent a day trying to trouble shoot it but I came to the conclusion that it was the upgrade that did it. Uninstalled Azureus and reinstalled the older version. It's better but not the same as it was. I was getting up to 300Kb/s to 400Kb/s from time to time but now I can't get past 75Kb/s.

Any ideas on what they could have done to screw it up?

Here's a thread I just started.

Check your firewall permissions. With 2.3.0.6 it is 'Azureus.exe' that needs permission to receive connections through your configured NAT port. Previous versions required 'javaw.exe' to have those permissions.

Hi, I went back to the older version and am getting a bit better speeds now, still no more than 30kb if im lucky. but everytime I open Azureus now I get these error pop ups:

UpnP:Mapping "Incoming Peer Data Port (TCP/6881)" Failed

and

Upnp: Mapping "UDP tracker client port (UDP/6881)" failed

Im guessing this has something to do with the port settings.
if anyone can help

First off, you need to stop using old ports ie: 6881. They are blacklisted by most trackers, I use something like 50254. Look at previous post's on how to forward ports correctly. Now I was die hard Azureus fan for a long time, green smiles and great speeds but it sucks you're cpu usage. I use bitcomet and I LOVE it, I d/l at about 300/kbs+ and u/l at about 75/kbs, I would also suggest trying utorrent, supposed to be quite good.

No sig for u!.

I have the same error.

I use port 50505. I have the port forwarded for both TCP and UDP. I have the distributed tracker plugin configured to use port 50505.

All my connections are always green once they get going. The distributed tracker in the status bar is always yellow however and indicates a NAT error.

Hi folks! I`ve had the same problem as you guys, and i found a way to fix it. I installed 2.0.3.6 just like you did, and got stuck with speeds (some downloads if I were lucky) under 10 kb\s, before I was in the 200-300 kb\s.

The solution came to me by accident, when I was going to play a MP game on internett and my Router jammed up when I was doing som Port forwarding. This accident forced me to reset my router with factory defaults. When I did this, and startet up Azureus again, all my little faces turned to green and I`m now back in the 200-300 kb\s.
I still got this boring message down in the bottom. You now about "problem with the distribution database UDP" and I still get only 1-200 users.. but I dont really mind since I`ve got great speeds again..
P.S remember to use 49152 as listening port, or something else other than the default in Azureus

Good bye, and I hope it help a few of you. I will check back on you folks

install new version of Java (Java Sun System 1.5 or update 6) thats
jre-1_5_0_06-windows-i586-p.exe
and if you R using plugins then uninstall AutoSpeed
and if this will you not hep you then speed down the upload on 90 - 95% of your linespeed (for upload of course)

My Azureus is haing problems with the TCP.

I always get a NAT Error no matter how many different combinations of the TCP Port i recreate!!

I always get green faces. But because of this TCP problem, I get speed of 5kb/s (rarely!!).

And the thing is, I am using a LinkSys Wireless-G 2.4GHz 802.11g adapter, with the DSL terminal downstair. The reception between the adaptor and the main terminal downstairs is at 70%-80%.

Any ideas on how to re-route the TCP port problem and increase my speeds??

As I said, I have broadband, and usually internet downloads can reach 30kb/s no problem (depending on certain sites, but most of the time).

I was having the same problem, just fixed it.
I was only forwarding TCP for the port I selected Azureus to use. Once I chose to forward Both TCP and UDP for that port, the light turned from yellow to green.

It took a few minutes for the settings to kick in but once they did the speed jumped from under 10k to 100k and I now have 10x as many users connected.

I have the same problem. For some strange reason i was able to down load like 20 stuff at once at a combind 600k+ to 1mb but now i get no more then 20 and i can't even browse web pages. I don't have a router and I restarted my computer from scratch since i thought it was a bug in my system. I tried doing releasing the Ip and renewing it or taking out cable plug but that didn't work, so if anyone has tips, please let me know.

Thanks :)

@ flykid83

Are using port #'s between 50000-60000?. If not make sure u forward/open ur port # in ur firewall(s) and client. Also try capping ur u/l and d/l speeds in ur client to what ur connection can handle.

Dont always trust the NAT test in Azureus, use this one:

~*~ https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=

....after = put in the port # ur using and leave client on when running this test. Needs to come back as "open!".

Here's how to open win xp firewall:

~*~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/9/263334

....look for my name in the thread and follow instructions.

Hope this helps ;-D

No sig for u!.
