Hi,

I am "new" to computer stuff and I have so many question.
I had an old computer that i want to upgrade.
I did an upgrade 2 or 3 years ago just by buying a new motherboard (EliteGroup 648FX-A) because I got a free ok CPU from my brother-in-law. The CPU was a test batch (1.0 GHz). The other hardwares stayed the same (older). <--- all upgrade/assemble either by a someone else.

Now I am thinking of upgrading it again with a new CPU, graphic card, and maybe adding another 256 RAM. Can I still upgrade?

If yes, what should I go for?

I am thinking of playing online game.
I am cheap but I wanna something that can last 2 years? (maybe I am asking too much!)

I have never and dont know how to assembly a desktop.
I am thinking something that I could just plug it in and use it. Is that simple?? I am scare of going into "/command thing."
(one time, I wanted/tried to reformat my computer and end up with WIN XP in different drivers and none could be open and use... )

I live in Montreal, Canada

Thanks for your time.

You need to check whether there is any further upgrades available for your M/B. Unless your buying secondhand you may find there's nothing out there that will fit now. 2 years in the computer trade is a lifetime. Think before you spend any cash on parts. It may be cheaper to buy a recon PC with a guarantee already built.
Without specific information I can't be of any more help.

you have a fairly good p4 board there according to the specs in this link. you don't have a 1ghz cpu as that is for a p3 motherboard so might have a 2ghz cpu. http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?MenuID=...

Glad to heard that my computer can still be updated with my current motherboard. I will go to maybe microbytes to see what i can get.
