Is your HD in a PC? What is a "3.5 80gb HD"? Do you want to connect your HD DIRECTLY to your TV?

You need to have your HD in a PC in order to watch your movies on your TV. You also need a graphics card capable of a TV output, i.e. a Super VHS output.

So you have to have your PC running to watch your movies!

Welcome to AD. I'm not sure if you have your HDD in a drive enclosure and what the interface might be(ie USB, firewire, etc) but if you do, here's a not so cheap alternative, the ShowCentre 200 by Pinnacle Systems: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Produc...
In case you don't have your HDD in an enclosure and want to do so here's where you can purchase enclosures http://www.cwol.com/usb/usb_products.htm

If you have a video card in your computer that has a s-video hook up, you can plug in a s-video cable from your card to your tv, then hook up your audio to your sterio. That's what we do, but you need the video card. Most computers come with them now. I don't think you can actually hook up from your hard drive to your tv (that I know of).

yes you can if you have a newish tv there should be a yellow composite input somewhere this will let you send video to the tv

to get audio there aswell you need a lead from you sound card output on the pc to the audio input on the tv (red and white connectors)

Im not entirely sure as im not an ATI user but i beleive with ATI cards you need to set the video mode to be "theatre mode" in the advanced options menu for your card. there should be a feature that allows you to zoom in or out for the tv output to make it fit the screen properly

if your using a large resolution on your monitor the tv wont accept it properly and it will just pan around the edges as you move your mouse but it should go into fullscreen for video

let me know how you get on with this
