Maxtor on Asus A8N-SLI

Have a new AMD system (Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Core 64 bit 1MB L2 Cache Skt 939) with a
Asus A8N-SLI/Premium nForce4 Skt939

This will not see my Maxtor SATA 300 gb but does see my Hitachi SATA 500 gb
Use the same leads to the board but Maxtor is invisible but still works with my ASUS P5 GD2 (Intel) system
Have I made an expensive error somewhere?

have you tried using just the maxtor on its own to see if it picks it up?

Have you tried putting both HDs into your other sytem together there may be an issue between maxtor and hitatchi drives

Is the drive not detected in the bios or only in windows?

Id say there may be a compatability issue if your certain the Maxtor drive works

let me know of any progress

Its not the drive, it works on the other system.
Its not the cable, that works too.
Which controller are you adding the drive to? have you loaded the drivers for that controller as well?
