WHAT I READ
VCD stands for VideoCD (version 2.0 to be more specific).
VideoCDs can be played in most of the stand-alone DVD players, in all stand-alone VCD players and in all computers that have CD-ROM

So Far I have tried to burn a VCD with EASY CD CREATOR PLATINUM and
NERO BURNING ROM ? Followed All the Guides on AFTERDAWN.Com and had a look at sefy?s guides.

My ATI VCD Player is looking for Video CD 1.0 (Player:ATI VIDEO CD7.0)
I?m also having trouble playing the VCD in my DVD player (Plays CD?s and MP3?s too.But can?t see the disk)

Is my burning methology wrong?
What kind of player is required. (Downloading WMP9 as I write this)
Should I be looking to burn VCD at 1.0?

I?m burning to Maxwell CD-R 650 Mb Is this OK?

If I explore the contents of my disks i find the following

Folder With Nero With ESY CD Plat.
CDI CDI_IMAGE.RTF none
CDI_TEXT.FNt none
CDI_VCD.APP none
CDI_VCD.CFG none
EXT LOT_X.VCD none
PSD_X.VCD none
SCANDATADAT none
SEGMENT empty emty
VCD Entries.vcd Entries .vcd
INFO.VCD INFO.VCD
LOT.VCD LOT.VCD
PSD PSD.VCD PSD.VCD
KARAOKE None Empty
CDDA NONE Empty

Last but not least my Movie at 600Mb
MPEGAV AVSEQ01.DAT MUSIC01.DAT

My question here : I?m I missing anything?

PS. I?ve fully encoded with Tempeg and can view the results beautifuly .thats the MP2.. But now im trying to get the movies offloaded from my hard drive

No, The ATI error message came back with "This application does not support playback of video CD 2.0" So in the help files for ATI It talked about playing VCD 1.0 's...

So that lead me to beleive I was doing something wrong... Soory my chart did not work my previous note post a little different than I layed it out.. What Are the Critical contents of the CD for Typ dvd's to read them..

I'll take that to the ATI boards.... What Plater should play what I've recorded.. And is file AVSEQ01.dat in folder MPEGAV and the 4 files ... Entries,Info, Lot, and PSD.vcd in the VCD folder the only critical files I need ?

Ok Dela

Just played the burned video VCD on my freshly downloaded WMP9.0 Works good!!
So now I feel good about mey burning technique.
Screw that ATI file player and VCD player!!!

I did feel pretty good about burning the VCD at 12x on my plex writter . But having trouble with my stand alone DVD and from what I've read what media and speed is reccomended in case that makes a difference to the plat back ability

I?m burning to Maxwell CD-R 650 Mb Is this OK?

So in your opinion Write speed should not be an issue to stand alone DVD's and write quality?

I never said that!! I write all my vcd/svcd at 4x but usually the only problems high speed burning causes is a quality loss!
