Moviefactory Problem....Help Needed!!!

I'm relatively new to all this DVD authoring. I can go from Dvd to Dvd fine. When I try use Moviefactory to go from avi to Dvd everything seems to come out fine. But about 40 mins or so into viewing the Dvd on the standalone player the the audio goes off from the video. It's happened on the 2 dvds I've tried to make from avi's. Can some one please help me out here? Or better yet, recommend a process that has proven to work in going from avi to dvd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
