Hello,

I've just burned Scrubs onto a DVD-R 4.7GB.

When I played it, I saw that both the top and the bottom of the episode(s) have been cut off. can see this by the NBC-commercial during the episodes,-can only see the top of these..(shows in Windows media player)

Is there any way I can make the size smaller? I've tried adjusting by changing the format on my TV, but all of them cuts off the text at bottom and characters heads..

Please help.. I want this to be perferct... I'm a perfectionist...

I've used DVDLab-Pro for making the DVD with a menu. This is where the DVD is being compiled :)

Hi there,

He's my theory, but I may be 100% wrong, so here goes:

I use VSO DivXtoDVD to convert my .AVI files.

What the software does, it looks at the input file and calculates the picture ratio.

If it's close to 4:3, it will convert it to Full Screen in a proper ratio.

If it's just a little bigger than fullscreen, it will switch to Widescreen, keeping it to the standard size.

Now, you talk about NBC commercials, so I assume this was taped from TV then converted to digital video.

The input file probably has a weird ratio, and most converting software are using the best setting (Probably fullscreen, with a ratio of 4:3).

So I assume most converting software will give you the same result.

Like I said, this is what I think is happening.

Comments anyway ?
Am I close, or far far far away :)

My 2 cents...

I have the same problem. Menus I created in DVD Lab have some buttons that I placed at the bottom of the screen cutoff. Also, all my compiled movies from DivXtoDVD, DVDSanta, and DVDLab have the edges cutoff. All my settings are correct(720x480,NTSF,4:3,etc..) and they look fine on preview screens. I am at my wits end, the last 10 DVD's I've made have this problem. Ive tried everything (except, obviously, the right thing) to fix it. HELP please!

Your TV set Probably has a Very large Overscan...On My Really Old TV set It cuts off about 20% of the Sides and Top and Bottom of the Frame so that the Tops of Poeples Heads sometimes get cut off and any subtitles are Not seen....

To fix this Problem I encode my Files while adding a Border arround the Image so my TV sets Overscan Only cut off the Borders and not the actual Image.....
