Can you use SDRAM and DDR RAM on the same montherboard

Hi

got a new computer but it only has 256mb on DDR RAM in it, my old one has 2 256mb Sdram sticks.

Will i be able to use the one ddr and one of the sdram sticks in my new computer.

are they compatable?

or will my pc jus go on fire?

my m8 said it will work, but hes usally wrong

most likely it will not work. DDR and SDRAM use different sockets. However, some motherboards (ECS is the only one I can think of right now...) had both types of memory sockets. If all your memory sockets are the same configuration, then you CANNOT mix and match. It just won't fit, and you'll break something if you try

I had an old mobo, it only work with either ddram only or sdram, no mix and match.. but u can try on ur mobo. it ok wont burn. cause i did put 2 differ sticks into my mobo. it only work with one type only...
