In the last 3 months I have been getting myself and my DVD burner the indepth training course on burning, file types, converting, etc. With all the trial and error that goes along with it. Is there anyone out there who can explain to me how you condense video files to fit on 1 DVD? For instance....I have downloaded and burned South Park DVD's with 20-22 22 minute episodes onto 1 DVD. I have also been teaching myself how to edit files and I did some editing to the second season of South Park deleting the footage of Trey and Matt and the begining of each episode. When I went to burn them again they were WAY to huge to burn to a single DVD...and I reduced the files!!!! What have I done and how do I do it properly? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,

OK....Im looking for a blanket solution. All formats, all players, etc. I have WinAVI so I can reformat just about anything. And Nero and Decrypter for burners. Just looking for the best software for "compressing". That's the term I was looking for. I downloaded FlaskMpeg gonna check that out. I have already figured out that it only uses AVI for output files.

For compression, or shrinking the movies, i use DVD Shrink. It is great, and free, but not updated. Nero Recode 2 works much the same way as shrink, just looks a little different. Those two are the main ones i use to shrink a DVD9 to fit on a DVD5.
There are plenty of guides for Shrink.
