Also, "The Country Bears"......

Well, not too many DVD's get by me, but these three I am having trouble with. No matter how I attempt a "backup", I get an "Illegal Navigation Error". Anyone able to do these successfully???

On Reign, I did the standard strip streams and
split to two DVDs. Copied all the normal files and when I test it with IFOEdit, the intro to movie starts and then it comes up with the error message. How did you process yours??

......and thanks for responding

I don't what it is about the navigation error, but i receive those errors. I usually save the main movies vobs and delete the rest of the files. I then open up ifoedit and open up the main movies files. click ob "vob extras". The box i select are strip streams, correct vobs, correct original ifo files, and create new ifo files. Of course select split 2 dvd. After its down, new ifo files will be created. I burned it with nero and don't have any problem with it.

mscogna.

I dvd2one as all I require is the movie and not all the other stuff, I have never tried to split to 2 dvdr's, however I know that the ifoedit dvd player is twitchie, mine used to work fine but just bombs out whenever I use it.

I know load the files up in powerdvd to try them out and this tells me whether it is good or not (but I know this is NOT 100% for proof)

Ifoedit, when splitting can produce errors though, I did read it on the guides at the website. www.ifoedit.com
Something to do with the first play command ( I think).

I have downloaded the guides, and may be able to zip em up for u if u haven't got them.

Let me know LOL

Thanks baabaa..... Great minds think alike.
I had already downloaded DVD2One earlier today and tried it on a test movie. I am going to try it on Reign of Fire tonight.

Thanks for the info.

I agree with baabaa black sheep ;

Since DVD2One I've had 100% success on all DVD-9 discs (apart from 'The Cell').

Smartripper 2.41
DVD2One 1.02
Nero 5.5.9.9. (or higher)

*** UPDATE ***

Wow! What a great program. It worked on every disc that I was having a problem with. Definately worth the money.

Excellent news, alls well and ends well.

Still I may try the split to 2 dvd option in ifoedit just to try it once, once you've used dvd2one a few times, it kind of takes the ACCOMPLISHMENT factor out of it I think.

Anyway glad you have a result.LOL:-)

I still need to find a proggie that sorts out episodes but I'm very happy with backing up movies at the mo.

Peace

I believe pinnacle instant copy can do this, it has just been released, so I think I shall make a purchase.

There is thread in this section started by dextrslab, has some time issues with it though but if u want to keep everything, it's worth a shot.

I've read that DVD95Copy can do episodal but you lose of quality in compression apprently.

I'm sure someone is working on it somewhere so I'll get on backing up all movies 1st.

get roxio cd/dvd creator 6 - youll have to rip the episodes and do any compacting first tho but you can add them and create a new menu for the dvd

P4 1400mhz, P4 2800mhz, Packard Bell 1000mhz, IBM T23 Thinkpad, X-Box matrix, PS2 Messiah 1,Sony Ericsson K700i for crappy photos on the move!!!

@mscogna
Are you trying to add VOB files to a pack ?
Or deleting from a set ?
Inside VOB is ID, (NOT VTS_01_04.VOB), but 1, 2 - 6 etc.
Navigation ERROR is when proceedure is out of step, sent to look for ID 6 in VOB 4, and it's in VOB 5.
You can use VOBEdit to correct Navigation IDs, you can even set your own.
I learn from reading on this excellent Forum and have altered VOB IDs to suit my purpose.
