I tried these two IDs using WinDip 1.7 with no luck:

XX XX 02 30 BC
XX XX 09 30 BC

The game still plays but will not go online. I get a DNAS error -832.

Am I using the wrong IDs or is the problem WinDip not doing its job?
It acted like it did its job and showed it patched.

What am I doing wrong?
Does it look at the title ID when authenticating?
If so, what is the ID information that I need to add in for this game?

I had to rebuild the ISO like in this thread below and I don't have an original anymore.

Please help.

Thanks!

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I just took an original game of Ratchet & Clank, Up Your Arsenal that's made for online playing.

I used the PS2 Disk ID Utility to retrieve the disk ID. I used DVD Decrypter to make the ISO. I used WinDip 1.7 to apply the ID. Burned ISO using DVD Decrypter. The game will play normally but when I try multi player an error comes up saying "Please Insert PS2 or PS Disk" etc...

I am using a Modchip. The original disk will also freeze for multi player when the station is in Mod Mode.

What is the answer for this? If I have to disable the modchip, then the backup will not load.

To sum it up, the game will abort when I try multi player because it detects the mod chip. If I stay out of multi player, everything is fine but I can't go online.

Thanks!

Anyone?

Why can I not go online with a backup disk and using a modchip?
Do they have the ability to detect the modchip and abort the program?

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

i dont know much about modchips, but i think i read somewhere on these forums that if you want to play online you can't use modchips, you gotta use swap magic. I guess that maybe there is some detection/protection against modchips :/ and like I said, i don't really know for sure since I read it somewhere. It would be nice if someone could confirm this.

if you're using the original to go online then you need to turn the mod off. As for the backups I'm not too sure what's going on with your system. Are you sure swbf2 is NTSC and not patched PAL? although that would usually give out the -833 error -832 is pretty close. or could it be that you changed something in the game when you rebuild. What mod are you using and what version ps2 do you have?

I have an Apple Modchip.
The Model No. for my PS2 is SCPH 39001

I do have to disable the modchip to go online with the original.
I am trying to patch the DNA$ of a copy of SWBF2, not an original.

I wasn't sure if that was my problem or not so I tried an original of Ratchet & Clank, Up Your Arsenal (that's the only online original that I have) and ended up with the same problem (red screen of death) when I tried to use multi player. Single player works fine.

So now I'm at the point of wondering if they detect the modchip somehow. I'm not sure if they are able to do this. If I disconnect my network cable before trying to select multi player, it still gives me the red screen.

Maybe I'm not patching correctly? I tried WinDip 1.7 and I tried extracting the DNA$ image and applying the patch with dnas_id inserter.

I also did the step by step instructions from this website:
http://www.ps2nfo.com/on-line.html

Thanks!

Ok, let me make this clear, you CANT play backups on a mod chip ps2 because the network will detect and say you were cheating. Turn it off than you can play online. Make sure the ps2 game is the same region as your ps2

I can play an original online if I disable the modchip.
I can play a backup (not online) with no problem.

When I try to play a backup and select multi player (for online), I get the red screen of death.

I took an original of Ratchet & Clank, got the DNA$ off of the original, made a backup of it, applied the patch and I cannot go online with it. I can only play it on single player.

If I turn off the modchip, the game will not load (since its a backup).
If I was able to play backups with no modchip, then I would have no problem (none of us would).

Are there modchips that allow you to turn them off after you have loaded the game?

Well, I ordered a Matrix Infinity modchip today. I'll try replacing the older Apple V7 with the newer Matrix. Supposably this chip allows you to turn it off after booting up.

Thanks for the help and idea.
