Hi guys, am a newbie here and I'd like to ask for your help.
I keep getting the error message "the disk in drive X is not formatted" when I try accessing my hard drive. I was able to open files in the hard drive earlier but as I was transferring data from the said drive to my master drive, I suddenly got the error message.
I tried using CD Check but it also came out with an error message saying "data error (cyclic redundancy check". Is there any way that I can still retrieve the files from my hard drive?
It sounds like the CD is trashed. You might possibly recover some of it with CD Roller. There should be no reason why you would have problems with the files on your hard drive, unless they have been coruppted,
And from what it says about the disk not being formatted, it sounds like you are using some type of packet writing software like Nero InCD, Sonic DLA, or Roxio Drag to Disc. Bad move.
Packet writing software is unreliable, at best. It is good for one thing, and one thing only....transferring data from one computer to another, almost immediately.
