I opened Fabdecrypter and dvdshrink to copy tombstone and the computer doesn't recognize the dvd. It says file(d:video_ts\video_ts.ifo) does not exist.
What does this mean?

Yep, bad disc! Don't forget this error message because lately it's been happening a lot. Hollywood is using some crappy media.

yeah..... I recently had to return a movie for a new copy so I can back it up properly! I kept on getting skipping at the chapter breaks! but now I'm going to experiment using some programs to see if it is a conversion problem! I just watched one of my movies that I backed up last week and it also skips at the chapter breaks! I know it's not bad media (Taiyo Yuden, DVD+Rs, 8x, booktyped to DVD-ROM). I'm going to take that disk and try using a different program and see if it's the problem!

IHoe
You may be experiencing a new protection that James, of Slysoft, calls "Chapter Jump" protection. Maybe, but not sure, from your description. It sure as hell is not media with the good stuff you are using.

AnyDVD versions 5.5.4.1 and newer address this protection.
