do ctrl-alt-del & use task manager to tell you what your resources sit at.

Im taking it that your upgradin your graphics for better gaming abilities so i would get more memory anyway as most new games dont tend to work brilliantly with any less that 1 gig of ram so if youve got a free memory slot slap an extra 512mb in there

Studio Comp: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ OC ~ 2.35GHz runs at 40 celcius idle and 48 under stress (aerocool GT1000 really works!), Asrock K7VT4A , 1024MB Dual Channel DDR 400, MSI Nvidia FX5200 128MB OC ~ 600MHz mem 350MHz core,80GB SATA + 200GB SATA + 120GB IDE, 7.1 Channel Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum EX sound and midi interface. 19" Sony SDM-HS95 TFT monitor - sweeet
Comp2: AMD Sempron 2400+ OC ~ 2.0GHz (Stable), Asrock K7S41GX, 512MB DDR 333, Onboard Graphics, 40GB Maxtor IDE

set of monitors on the way soon :P
Google is your friend...
WorkComp: LAPTOP, intel celeron D 2.4GHz, 256MB DDR, 20GB hd. NO SCREEN IT WAS SAWN OFF :S (bag of crap)

when in task manager, try right hand tab & you'll see info near the bottom. going by memory as don't use w2k or xp.

I'm currently building a computer and my atx motherboard has 3 Ram slots. I was wondering if I should stick 3x 1gb sticks in there or stick with 3x 512mb ones. I'm going to get a eVGA 256mb 7800GT if that matters. And anyone has suggestions on what brand I should get? Thanks in advance.

hey invasian,

well putting 1 gig in every slot will giv you twice as much memory as putting 512 in every slot which is better espescially if your planning on doing a lot of gaming,

more memory the better as a general rule

Do you mean brand of memory or brand of grfx card?

Thanks for input. Sorry didn't clear it, what brand of Ram is what I meant. It can handle 3GB. I'm going to use it for gaming. Seems that everyone uses 1gb for gaming.

see if you have dual channel,if you do buy a kit oof ram.dont just slap any kind of memory in your pc cause the proformance wont be there.if you dont have dual channel by all means slap happy with that ram...lol but if you have dual channel buy a kit like this....

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_el_ddr_pc_3200_d...

this is just an example of what a kit of ram is....you have to get what is rated for your pc like pc2700 333ddr,or pc3200 400ddr...ok...alot of people like cosair xms, ocz platiniums are a little cheaper and i like them.....hope this helped you...peace
