i was just wonder if i have the recorder hooked up to a satellite. I won't have to use the tv tuner is this correct?

If you are using a satellite reciever You are NOT USING the TV tuner
If the TV has aux inputs ie Video/Audio input
your connections would be
Sat reciever RCA or S video output to the recorder
From the recorder Jacks to the TV Aux input [video/audio 1]
Set Tv to Aux1

If TV has only RF connection
Sat reciever to the Recorder Rf input
Rrecorder RF output to the TV RF conection
Make sure that the recorder and TV are set to either ch 3 or 4 for your area
