Hey everyone.

Starting about last night, my USB Optical Mouse would start freezing for 1-2 seconds randomly. The time increased and eventually it didn't work at all. I put it in another port and it worked fine, and t hen the same thing happened. Eventually I tried all 4 ports at the back and they stopped working on them, however it was working at the first port again for awhile.

However, it is working fine at the front ports; and I am having no problems currently.

I know I should buy a PS/2 mouse, but I would still like to know the problem. Any help?

well it my b a power issue but im not sure . right click on my computer n go to properties ..then click on hardware then device manager ..see if anything has an exclamation mark in yellow next to it .. you might need to update your usb drivers.. another thing..try pluggin in a different usb device into any of those ports n see if your computer finds that device.if not then your mouse could b damage n may have blew your usb ports..other than that i couldnt tell you ..

If your mouse has been workin fine for a long time until recently it may well just be on its way to silicon heaven (where my old processor rests :P) if it wasnt a particulalry expensive mouse id say its probably just crap. but you should try using one of those USB - PS2 converters to see if you still get the same problem
