There is a GT4 rip kit on www.ps2nfo.com that worked for me. You will have to register there before you can download the kit.

I have tried MANY different methods and have even followed Sonix guide Word For Word, with no luck.
Every disk i try loads up to the screen with the white writing, then goes black and nothing happens.
I think the game loads to a certain point b/c the red light on the controller does come on during the black screen, but nothing after.
Any ideas?

yea P4.
thats where i got Sonix link from and i also used the other method which removes some movies and that one didnt work either, seems like both hang @ the same point.
I am trying to do an NTSC , also with Swap Magic 3.6 and a slimline ps2
Would love to get a working copy of this game!
edit: in Sonix PAL version the final size of his DVD-ISO is around 4.3GB, the ISO i am left with is just under 4GB.

Is it true that GT4 has to read two parts of the disk at once. I have been told by Tokijin it is not but a 'game-o-tecnic' friend of mine says it does. if this is so, how do you eneble your burner to do this. I have a pioneer DVR-S606, and any help is appreciated :-)

@bigben197
I don't know what 'game-o-tecnic' means but the game has two layers and therefor is a dual layer disc (dvd9) so at the end of the first layer it must switch layers to continue it does not read both at the same time, and you need a dual layer burner to do a straight copy onto a DVD9...Then you need a mod chip for it to work.
@soundss
They must have different files or something, if i remember correctly Sonix was working on a NTSC version but that was a good bit back.
aye aye man

Thanks P4. 'game-o-tecnic' is a play on words, like pyrotecnic. it was a very lame joke though. thanks for that!

FINALLY!
so i finally realized what was my problom. In Sonix guide he is doing a PAL Backup and in CDVDGen he does not change his Liscense Area under the Disk Volume info. It was just a matter of changing that from Europe to America (something that was done in the other guide on page1 of Guide Thread)
wooohoooo 100% working backup!!

You can switch the region on swap magic but a lot of people say that it cuts a bit of the screen off sometimes but if the TV supports PAL it would play fine.
