I have sony Digital8 camcoder, premiere 6.0 and i want to capture. Few days ago I successfuly captured video with this combination in so called 'Capturing clips with device control' mode: I just use buttons in 'Movie Capture' window to preview, record, rewind or fast forward camcoder video. Lately I can still do that but there is no preview, there is just black preview area. What did i do wrong?

Maybe your Project Settings don't match your Capture Settings in premiere... or you might need to delete your premiere Preferences file. Close the program, find the file "premXX.pref" where XX is 60 if you have premiere 6.0, etc... and delete that file. Run Premiere again and it will make a fresh new prefs file, hopefully solving your problem.
