Hellllo there, I am using nero start smart to burn mp3 and transfer mp3 to wma. using Verbatim 1x-48x cd-r 700mb/80min discs. once burnt nero states a sucessful burn, but when played after the 6th song tracks sound as if theyre matted with a bubble, popping, and a sctatching noise, onle recently i noticed that the disc mentioned above started the noice on the first track and the whole cd, so i took it iur and cleaned the cd again and the sound was only on the last 4 tracks, could this be a player prob, but have tried 3 players, same same. has happened to most of my burns, i thaught i saw the media type posted in another thread as good to use, so im a bit stumped. any thaughts??? Thanks heaps ! !

Your question is more audio related and when you convert .mp3 to WMA that is transcoding which decreases the sound quality. You can burn the .mp3s to a cd-r(w) then rip back to your hd using Easy CD Extractor(free software download) in .wma format.

Don't bother converting MP3 to WMA as it will result in quality being lost. Are the files your burning to cd downloaded?
Also ripping an audio cd made out of MP3 or WMA files back to either MP3 or WMA will result in quality being lost.

Just make audio cd's with the files as they are. No need to convert. And don't bother re-ripping the burnt cd's to MP3 or WMA as I said earlier quality will be lost.

when i burn my mp3 music to disc thru Nero start smart to make a wma audio cd Nero must transfer from mp3 to the wma type file automaticly i dont have to convert anything, these cds make the sound. when i save tracks off a cd to pc, i have to convert the wma to mp3 to save space. these burnt cds also make the sound,
BUT what i dont get is sometimes i can listen to the cd (copy) and it is fine, other times the end half of cd will have the noise thru the music, and others olny a few songs or all, depends if the cd feels happy that day i spose:) i dunno
