Hello,
I'm looking for a program that will let me pick the spot where I want the layer change to be when I burn a home movie I've edited on my Hard Drive and want to back it up to a DVD+DL so I can keep the high bit rate.

My biggest problems now is that the discs look great with the high bit rate, it's just that when the software I use (Pinacle Studio) it makes the decision of where to place the layer change, and sometimes it's not a very good stopping point, because when the Player changes the layer there is a slight pause, which can cut someone talking short. If anyone knows of software that will help me place the layer change on a specific mark, that would be great.

Thanks!!

don't know if it will be of any use but decrypter in iso write mode will let you define the layer break. and probably image burn as well.

Believe that DVD Decrypter will also let you leave the layer break on the copy where it was (is) in the original disk.

I suggest converting your files to iso using folder2iso or eqivelent then use imgburn. Make sure under settings/write layor break options calculate optimal is checked or you can determine where you want the layor break.

Not sure if any of these ideas will work. You see I'm working with AVI files that I've edited for a project using Pinacle Studio 9. Instead of making the final project on a single layer DVD, I'd like to use a duel layer for a higher resolution, but I want to specify where to place the layer break, which means I'd need software that lets me choose which chapter and which frame that the layer change happens.
