Hi !

i've been recently trying quite a bit to make a backup of resident evil 4. i've tried different applications (dvd encrypter/alcohol 120%/clone cd) and different burning speeds.

the gameplay itself is fine, i just have problems with the video's playing. a video will start playing, freeze for about 10 seconds, then play another 3 seconds then freeze for another 10. As the game progresses through the movie, the intervals get longer.

I've got a gigabyte dvd burner 4rw/16r/16w.

Would the kind of dvd media i use be affecting this? at the moment i'm using the blue/purple backed media, could this be the problem? i've read that the silver backed media are the best... should i give them a go?

My problem with scence skippingfreezing, in Destroy All Humans, was due to my use of cheap media and because I burnt it too fast. I bought some of the good stuff, namely Ritek GO5s, burnt at 4x and the problem went any. So I guess your problem could also have something to do with the media you're using or the burn speed. By the way I backed up my RE4 on a Ritek and none of the movie scenes freeze or skip.

It's most likely the media you are using. Pop and a disc and see what DVD Decrypter says the media code is. http://www.videohelp.com has most media codes on there and you can see what people say about them. The name brand or disc color doesn't really matter but the media code does.

i just tried burning it with tdk DVD-R media, burning at 2x.
