i was wondering if the + and - are any different because i have got about 80 ritek DVD+r's and i don't know if i need DVD-r's instead.

It really depends on what your PS2 likes. I have an old PS2 which only likes DVD-R, DVD+R does not work on it. My V12 slimline PS2 on the other hand isn't too fussed if the discs are + or -. I guess it's time that you did some experimenting. By the way, Ritek is an excellent choice of media - I use the G04s or G05s.
