NEC DVD_RW 2510A or software problem?

I bought my NEC DVD_RW 2510A atleast over a year ago and have had little to no problems with it. I run XP_SP2 and keep up with most all updates. I have used it to copy and burn many movies but here recently when I use DVD_Shrink 3.2 to copy DVD's to my hard drive like I normally do and then use Nero 6.6.01 to burn the files to a DVD, I have always used the verifying option and have had no problems but now I have been getting a lot of bad sector errors once the DVD has been burnt. I use Ridata DVD's with a max burn speed of 8x but never burn faster than 2x and I even tried a new stack of RiData and got the same result. Since this has not been a problem before recently I am wondering if maybe one of the new DVD's I burnt could have installed something causing this error(Madagascar, Cinderella Man).

For you who swear by DVD Decrypter I have use it also recently with some movies I couldn't get copied with DVD_Shrink(Madagascar, Cinderella Man) and it also couldn't finish the encoding to my hard drive.

What I am trying to get at is I didn't have these problems until approximately trying to encode these last movies to my hard drive.

Thought maybe something had changed a setting in my firmware for this DVD burner and checked with NEC if there was any new firmware I should use but the site recommended if using XP to use its firmware instead.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!
