HI, i have swap magic 3.6 with slide tool. i made a backup of vice city and need for speed underground 2 with nero on dvd + r and they work fine. but my luck ran out, i tried backing up midnight club 3 dub edition and call of duty finest hour but they wont work properly, it either loads but when it reaches the beginning intro it freezes or runs very slowly like 1 frame every 10 seconds. i backed them up using nero, dvd decrypter, alcohol 120% but nothing fixes it. can you please help me i dont know what to do and i have searched about every forum i can find but no answers!
Please help me
Thanks

What speed and media did you use to try and backup those games? It makes a big difference to use good quality media and to burn at 4x on 8x media like ritek, verbatim, Taiyo yuden etc.

What's the max speed of your media? and have you got any other backups that work? also what model is your ps2.. in general people have more success with burning onto DVD-R for the older ps2 chunky models... but as you only have a +r burner then try booktyping it, I believe you can do this through DVD Decrypter... and when you burn set the write speed to half the max speed of the media.. ie. if you have dvd+r8x then set it to 4. I think maybe your burner is getting a bit old now and it might be in your best interests to get a new one... only a suggestion though :)
Try some of the things above and get back to me and I'll try and help you further if you need it ok?
good luck

Ok, firstly if you're gonna stick with having a dvd writer that writes at 2.4x max... then you'd be better off getting 4x media and writing at 2x..
Booktyping basically fools the ps2 or whatever into thinking that the dvd+r is dvd-rom and so makes it a bit more compatible. You didn't answer if you have any other backups that work? but ver 5 or 6 generally works better with dvd-r, so if book typing doesn't solve the problem then you might have to invest in a new burner I think.
To booktype... select iso write with dvd decrpter>
Then select the source drive.. and right click on the drive and select book type

select your drive in the tabs

set the booktype media..in your case it would be dvd+r

can't help you there... all you could do is try it I guess. It still might not work though, as I said before, it would be much better to pay £30 for a new dvd burner that will burn much faster, will burn to more types of media etc... your burner probably isn't listed as it must be around 2-3 years old to be that slow at burning.
good luck with it..let me know how you get on?

Your burner will burn DVD-R then?
If so, then yes maybe it will work better.. but no guarantee, when first startign out burning all you can do is try stuff to see if it works really.. but in general people have better success with DVD-R than DVD+R. It'll probably be really slow at max speed though if your DVD+R will only burn at 2.4x max... I would suggest a newer burner from either sony, NEC or LG personally.
You could also see if there's a firmware update for your burner, do the same as you did for booktyping, but in the drop down menu choose update firmware or whatever it says.
