Printing Problem with the Epson r300

Hi everyone I hope somebody can help, I have just purchased an Epson r300 after owning a photosmart 7960 (rip off ink prices).
When I print it is just printing the dark/black section in horizontal lines and nothing else.

Have you tried using the troubleshooter in Epson? Maybe you can call them directly. Also, you could try running the "print test page" and see what happens.
