I'm new here and i checked the newbie stickies but i couldn't find what i was looking for. I want to know if you can play your dvd-r backup using the swap magic cd version 3.3 disc? If you can then can someone let me known in a detailed step by step fashion. I also wanted to know how to fix my swap magic dvd version 3.3 disc. everytime i boot it up, the playsttion 2 logo screen appears then it just goes back to the memory card screen and the picture of the disc comes there. I click on the disc and the same thing happens. Can somebody please tell what i can do? Is my swap magic scratched or something? I've only been using it for like a month. Thanks.

Do all of your other games play properly?
A dirty Laser or possibly a misaligned laser head.
If that's the only Disc that won't run, then you'll have to buy a new Disc.
If your SM CD works, you may want to try looking into the Independance memory card exploit. you can run the elf to do the same thing as the SM dvd.
Do a search for that. LBurna has a great tutorial on that. I don't have the time now to find it.
Hope that helped....

This information is incorrect. You CAN run dvd games with your swap magic cd. Just load swap magic up, hit eject and insert a big original ps2 dvd (you might need to hit x here), then swap for you dvd backup.

Pioneer 107, ritek g05

what mod are you using with your swap magic discs? slidecard, replacement fliptop, slim tools ?
Have you had ANY games that have worked with the swap magic dvd disc? and now it's suddenly not working? or has it never worked?

My first suggestion would be to check that you're using the slidecard correctly and locking it back into place.
If the swap magic disc still doesn't work, ask a friend to try it out for you or something if you can. If all that checks out ok, then contact the place where you got your swap magic discs from and tell them that the discs don't work and ask for a replacement... unless of course you got it from ebay or somewhere, i don't know anywhere that still sells the 3.3 version personally, they sould all be selling the 3.6 by now.

Is the Swapmagic 3.3 DVD the ONLY Dvd your PS2 won't read?
If you're having problems with ANY ORIGINAL DVD your laser may need an adjustment http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars/1 OR
It maybe fryed just enough that it will only let you play CD based games
(I have this problem) only way around it is to replace the laser or set your System up with A MC Exploit & a Hard Drive running HD Advance or HD Loader. You'll also need a PS2 network adapter to hook up the hard drive
My PS2 is a ver 4 and over 5 years of so old. So it doesn't surprise me that my laser went out...
