I heard there is gonna be a 2.6 to 1.5 downgrade coming out in 2 weeks to a month. Is it true?

from what i've read were looking at late january/february for a "possible" downgrader for 2.5 (although nobody really wants to put a time limit on it.
so the chances of you getting a 2.6 downgrader has a lot of zeroes in it.
maybe for next christmas.
if you have just bought it take it back (claim dead pixels) or the fact that it doesnt do what its suposed to (which i believe is a valid reason for taking anything back - altough i doubt the shop you bought it from will agree lol

i really don't care about downgrading because by the end of december 2005 you will be in trouble if you haven't upgraded to the latest firmware 2.60 because sony is requiring by december of 2005 all sony psp games must use the dnas software detection utility onboard the psp firmware not online so if dnas detects the psp is running a illegal copy of a game you will be locked out of your psp by dnas's lockout feature which works the same way as xbox live if it detects the psp modified with version 1.50 to 2.00 and not currently up to date it will ban your psp online permently

Since the 2.6 firmware has the same security as the 2.5 there will be a downgrader

This whole thread made me smile. Everything from the Newbie error of updating a 1.50 to a 2.6 (that must hurt dude) to the DNA stuff that blocks internet use etc etc. so what if sony have created a mad demon that can ban a 1.50 from the internet. All that would do is make the 1.50 users avoid the internet. I was just thinking about not being able to play the latest games on a 1.50, I came to the conclusion that the PSP has got to drop some way in price in the new year. 1.50 owners must have all the chargers, screen protectors, bags, cables, memory cards and pretty much everything else they need/want for the machine available to them, the cinic would say that a 1,50 user has at least 50 games available to play in the back catalog of games up to GTA. having to buy an additional PSP to play the latest original games (whilst still having your cake to eat) is probably the only logical course of action if the latest games insist on the latest firmware and the current situation stands.After all, It's not as if you have to buy all the extras you needed for your current PSP. Who knows how cheap the PSP handheld alone will be when the new year settles, and if people aren't buying games because of the firmware issues, how cheap will they be forced to lower it to in order to stimulate buyers to part with their cash? when all is said and done, 1.50 users will cease to be an issue as time rolls on if the situation regarding later firmwares blocking games is in force. If every new game out there NEEDS 2.60 or above, then the 1.50 will in some ways be relegated to the past, much like a gameboy in the eyes of those wanting to play the latest games. The 1.50 will not satisfy their needs. Buying another PSP may seem extravagant if you do own a 1.50, but it still looks like the way to go if the PSP's newest back door stays closed (even though it may have been kicked partially open by determined raiders).

quite simply, the 1000/1.50 is perfection - truly a platform to encourage creative and talented coders to test the limits of this wonderful gadget.
Sony surely realise that their psp sales would be freakin ABYSMAL if it were not for the versatility of the 1.00-1.50.

i well guys i have the 2.50 and 2260 downgrader i just bought my psp and i found a working 250 and 260 downgrader my psp was 250 and i was scared trying to downgrade it in case it messy up it was my first time and before i do it i look up on net 4 the same guide then i belive its ok to do it becuase there all the same guide uget me
so listen i have the tools wanna have it let me now
100% bud it works i cant belive u guys here chating about downgrader when the acual tool is floating around on net remmember if looking 4 somthing u need to type in to get the right results on search am sho most of the people no that and some dont thats why they come on forums and starts talking crap and cry about it
well me emmmmmmmmmmmm am a software disigner and good on electronics and mutch more i make homebres my self its just that what i do is creat somthing that people will realy like and somthing that people dont have right now am working on compressing iso from 1.60 gig to 100 mb maybe less hopefully will finish soon and will be on site 4 u to try it thank to me after u try it and another thing am trying after that is creat a software that will convert a ps2 games in psp formate so u can play all ps2 games on psp only on psp 1.5 version it will work on

lol, ok there antomic, did I ever say there wasn't going to be a 2.6 downgrader, the only thing i said was that it would be a while until one would come out....maybe it wasnt as long as people were expecting, but noone on this thread said that there would NEVER be one......And yes, I sooooo got my ass handed to me (sarcasm)

You owe GTA to fact that 2.6 was downgradeable. There was never anything in the actual firmware that was exploited, Then or Now.
At that time, there was no exploit in GTA either so it was looking pretty much impossible at the time.
