If it was nothing in the firmware then howcome version 2.7 doesnt allow it to run. If there wasnt something in the firmware to be exploited then the savegame exploit would of never worked.

Because the save game only ran through GTA. It was an exploit in GTA. Sony changed some stuff around in the 2.7 update so that the FIRMWARE wouldn't allow GRAND THEFT AUTO to load anything that wasn't properly identified as a REAL LEGIT gamesave.

Umm..the savegame worked because of GTA. Hence why no other game allows the savegame exploit to work.

@syther im glad you are a person who can look back at this and laugh. i like that. @that other guy hmmmm no exploit in the firmware? what about the kernal checker that downdater used. that was in the firmware.

But that was because GTA allowed the programs to load. It was an EXPLOIT in GRAND THEFT AUTO.

Yeah but the exploit would have never been used if there also wasnt an exploit in the firmware. Why do you think they patched it in 2.71. If it was ONLY the game then they would have just patched it in the game. They also had to patch the firmware.

Dude there was no exploit in the firmware. The firmware just loaded savegames.

In 2.7 they patched the firmware to check the actual savegames of GTA and make sure they're real legit files.

Without GTA there would've been NO EXPLOIT.

ok, so it wasnt an exploit in firm ware. darkalex just made a program that overwrites the old psp bios magically when eloader couldnt even run in kernal mode....well, youv convinced me. sarcasm

It overwrote the PSPs IPL because of the Kernal Mode hack that was released like 3-5 days before the downgrader.
