What do you mean when you say it hasn't changed anything? do you mean it wouldn't change the name?

When you change a files name and extension you usually get a warning box come up.. just click ok.

I tried it on my gun.iso file, changed it to an AVI and then back again... and the file is still ok. You have to change it from windows explorer.

please post up an image of the rar files you have. before they are extracted.
How big was the file you downloaded? did it say on the site what the size was? I have never seen a DVD image made with CloneCD so that has me confused.

and that doesn't seem right either.
have you tried extracting another of the rar files like 002 or 003 and see what you get?

a picture of the files would help a lot.
the file size for Gun the game should be about 2.79GB
But i have also seen that there is an anime program called gun, and those are in AVI format.
I also saw somwthing under windows that was Gun, which was made with cloneCD, i guess that is the PC version, even though it is listed under Windows Apps.
You may just want to get another copy like Gun USA PS2DVD-START2
I know that file is the correct size for a PS2 game
