Can someone please help me out.l have a Toshiba A60 laptop which is 10 months old and this problem started about 2 weeks ago, it justs keeps shutting down for no reason. This is the message after it shuts down--Aproblem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file:Ati2vag. The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problem with the driver itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates. Technical information:Stop:0x000000ea(0xff332da8,0xffbb59bo,oxfaf9fcbc,0x00000001)Ati2vag beginning dump of physical memory.--END Could anyone please tell me what this means, how to repair this, and why this would happen all of a sudden. l am a novice to all this so could you give answers as simple as possible. Thank you in advance.

l have just been on device manager and found ati2vag file in Ati mobility radeon 7000igp which is in Display adapters, am l right to say this is a ati card.l click onto this and it gives options: Driver details gives the files which had ati2vag file which keeps shutting down my computer.Update driver: which l tried, and the update wizard came back with cannot find better match.Roll back driver: and unistall. So l have tried to update with no better match, the file Ati2vag is causing the problem. lcan unistall the program but how do l get it back on.l do have 3 discs,a recovery disc, additional software disc and tools& utilities disc.Which one will put this back on.

Your Laptop has an ATI card and it's a Mobility Radeon 7000igp -- it is a good card but a bit unstable ; if you dont have the latest Catalyst drivers.

They are available here :-

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293

Expand the + on Left Menu -->Windows XP
Click on the word RADEON on Left Menu then in Center pane.
Click on Catalyst 5.12 Windows XP - Driver Download in center pane
Read the instructions and get the catalyst Uninstaller first.
Download the Download 1 of 1 package.

Download the whole package ; best you update the Display, The WDM drivers same time.

A word of caution -- The Catalyst Uninstaller (get it in the NOTES on that page)is an optional download. They recommend using this utility to uninstall any previously installed Catalyst drivers prior to installation. That is a MUST DO.

Good Luck

Edited cause hyperlink was messed up ! Grrr !! I give up that link wont show like it should.. just copy/paste in your browser... It's been checked OK.

If you are not sure -- best you look first in ADD/REMOVE panel without removing anything... just look at the list there -- you should see ATI - Catalyst with a number ... also a ATI WDM set.. with a number.

ATI has catalyst for All In Wonder Cards.. some for Radeon .. some for RAGE Pro so on... !

The uninstaller will remove the present Catalyst drivers you have.. you will notice it when it reboots cause your screen will be different. Once you have installed the new drivers -- you will have to reset the display.
