It would help to know what motherboard you are using.

Some boards are better than other to overclock.

Here is a guide to help you.
http://www.tomshardware.com/2000/07/28/intel_celeron_overclocking...

I notice you have 2 types of memory as well.

You should be aware that all of the memory will run at 133Mhz, even the 166 stick as it will time at the lowest installed speed.

HAHAHA I had that motherboard back in the day with the same chipset oh man what piece of horse dung. I've also got a Celeron, and if you think that overclocking your CPU by a little(and your motherboard will not let you do that) will help you in games, it WON'T because Celerons suck for gaming. I've got a 2.8 Celeron and Radeon X800PRO, and the performance is subpar. Don't bother with overclocking anything you have...just get yourself a Pentium 4 or an AMD processor.

Hello ocn00b,
100 MHz FSB eh?
Athlons had those in the 90's, then went 133MHz in ~2000.
I had a TBird 1200 (133 x 9) and a TBird 1333 (133 x 10).
But your PC has a multiplier of what, 25?!
Gonna be tough to O/C with that multiplier, LoL :^)
The next logical step would be to jump to the next OEM FSB level, which any P4-capable mobo would support, 133MHz (533QDR).
But I don't think you will post at 3.325GHz, he heh ;^(
What you've got is a nice, inexpensive integrated-video PC.
You have installed an inexpensive AGP card (but better than the integrated I s'pose...) and mucked up the memory.
Remove the 256MB right away - 1GB memory is plenty, trust me.
The extra latencies or 'ticks' introduced by multiple redundant memory chips will slow down your overall system performance more than the extra 256MB is worth.
Use the 1GB and concentrate on getting fast timings within the BIOS memory setup.
If there are no adjustments in your 'automatic' BIOS, nothing to tweak regarding memory, then you take your SPD settings and enjoy stability. But the automatic thing DOES add an extra tick for each stick installed, count on it.
Overclocking will just throw your AGP and PCI slots out of specification, and will not deliver the performance increases you seek. (A nice little PC - just use it.)
I recommend an inexpensive Socket939 motherboard, and an Athlon64 3000+ (200MHz x 9) with 128-bit PC3200 memory.

Overclocking is overrated. You won't be getting much of a performance increase with your setup. Here is why:

A clock speed is just a frequency your processor uses to crunch through digital logic (instructions). There may be multiple instructions going through the CPU at the same time, so your CPU uses pipelining to synchronize the instructions. When instructions are out of sync, there will be problems (hazards). However, chips usually have Hazard Detection Units (HDUs) which push "bubbles" onto the pipeline in an attempt to re-synchronize the pipeline. This wastes clock-cycles, producing more heat. Although there will be some performance increase when doing certain processes, overall, it's not a good idea.

Well, true (I guess) but,
of more practical importance is the fact that O/Cing 100MHz FSB to 120 will change the 33MHz PCI slot to 40MHz, and alter the 66MHz AGP slot to ~80MHz.
If your PC will no longer boot, this is often the cause.
Reaching the next so-called OEM FSB 'plateau' will apply the proper dividers (in the case of 133FSB, the PCI divider will become 4 instead of 3) giving proper PCI and AGP at the higher FSB speed.
A mild O/C from 100FSB to say 105 will increase your clock to 2600 from 2500, but might introduce some small instabilities, and will not really be a whole lot faster (just not worth it!)
