I am using swap magic v3.3 to play all my ps2 slim console games. Recently i bought gt4 and i got problem loading it. After i use the boot disc, its say this is not a valid ps2 disc. As this is my first time buying a dual layer game disc, i am at a loss. Can anyone help me?

if you bought the game why do you need to use swap magic?

well that would constitute piracy and is against forum rules (which I'm guessing you haven't read) and you could get banned. Anyhow your problem is you're using swap magic which doesn't support dvd9.

The only way it will recognize backups of DVD9 games is with a mod chip. It can't be done with Swap Magic; however, you can look for a GT4 rip kit to try and bring the size down to a DVD5. Then, it will load with Swap Magic.

The only current known way to get Gran Turismo 4 backups to work with Swap Magic is to repack the Image so that it will fit onto a DVD5 disk. SONIX website used to/still does(I'm unsure to be honest) have instructions as well as the tools for backing up GT4. If he doesn't still have those posted, I'm sure that there are other sites that still carry the tools.

I read somewhere from this forum that it is also possible to copy the files from the dvd 9 disc into a external hdd and use swap magic to load it. You have another idea how to? I am still quite confuse about what it is about

Well you can use Swap Magic if you have a backup of USBExtreme on DVD (not sure if there is CD version, I keep hearing mixed things about that). Thing is, usbextreme has a VERY low success rate with games, and with the PS2's USB ports being 1.1, it is REALLY slow. If you have a slimline PS2, you can use HD Connect, which I hear is way better than usbextreme.

Which PS2 do you have anyways? Slimline or the chubby?

i have the slim console type. By the way. HD Connect is a software or hardware. Does that means i just have to install the HD Connect IDE Hdd and plug it into the usb port of the slim console?
