Quick question. I ordered a dvi cable from newegg. It wont work with my computer and on the box (which I didnt know) its says for a hd tv, but no where does it say it can work for a comp monitor. Is their a difference between dvi cables for comp montors and hdtv? Or is their something else wrong?

don't know as never used 1. doesn't your monitor have that cable? i presume your videocard has both analog & dvi connectors on it?

No the monitor didnt come with a dvi since it was a used monitor only vga analog cable. But I figured out what was going on. I wasnt getting a signal from the vid card through the dvi so thats why I was asking. But the real problem is the monitor has a dvi port, but is a analog signal not digital.

Now I have no idea why they would use both dvi and vga as analog instead of dvi digital, but they did. So thats my real problem. Thanks though. I was gonna edit the post or try to close it, but problem solved. Thanks ddp.:>
