Action Replay Max Use Cheats on my Back-Ups ?

Hey , hope someone knows about this or tried before.
I have a slimline V12 and Action Replay Max , I can download the new cheats etc , use them on my originals but I can't seem to use them on my back-ups. It just keeps flashing insert disk , I've tried putting in one of those cd loaders (i got it burned to dvd yet it only does cds ?) the cd loader will boot from the ARMax , but I cant get anything to boot from the cd loader, I'm not too familiar with how swap magic or any of that would work with action replay being in front of it , any ideas ?

Its just a clone chip ,I dont even think the original actel can do that ? Enough space only to hold the firmware on it. No added features :( Can't update the firmware either , the magic of clone chips.
Any ideas on a loader to load from ARmax to get the backs working ? Swap magic you have to use the cd disk , then insert the dvd disk ? So that would mean I would have to swap out 3 times lol Has anyone tried or have a way of getting this to work ?

try getting a program called DVDloader or CDLoader
they are the same thing, CDLoader you burn to CD, and DVDLoader you burn to DVD.

I liked DVDLoader better because my system plays DVD's better than CD's. The try this.
1. put in AR Max
2. go to expert mode, pick game, choose start game with codes
3.when it asks for a disk put in Swap Magic DVD instead of game
4. When it asks for a disc SWAP OUT for DVDLoader
5. When it asks to swap using ea method PRESS EJECT and put in back up.
i do not remember if that is correct as it has been a long time.
steps 3 & 4 may be backwards so try reversing them if that doesn't work. But i know it can be done as i use to do it with Swap Magic,DVDLoader and AR Max before i got a chip.
With the chip you may just be able to go AR Max, DVDLoader, Game
and get it to work so that is worth a try too.

yeah ive tried that with the proggie , how do you get this EA method ? sqaure button ?
EDIT , yeah im on a chip but it wont read games when it comes to the insert disk now

I boot action replay , go to expert ,put in dvd loader on dvd doesnt load, dvd loader on cd loads but will only use ps2 cds. Am I screwed ?

If you have a Copied Swap Magic DVD Version, You can do this method which ill tell you, but its quite complicated.
Requirements
DVD Decrypter (Search Google, you'll be able to download from there.
DVD+/-R Disk ( Which One Works on your PS2 )
Action Replay MAX (Evo) - I do not tolerate Piracy so You have to buy action replay before you can back it up and use my guide.
Apache2/IML2ISO/ Something That converts IML to ISO
CD/DVD GEN
ISOBUSTER
Modified FILES (You need this to make it work, Download from --->) http://www.savefile.com/files/4940100
METHOD
First Off, Make a ISO of AR MAX (EVO) Using DVD Decrypter. (MODE>ISO>READ, Select Destination and Press Decrypt)
Next, Open ISO Buster and open the AR MAX Image you just made. It will show all the files of AR MAX like this pic below.
The HighLight All Files, And Press Extract to, Extract it all to 1 folder. Next Download The Modified Files from http://www.savefile.com/files/4940100
Than Open The folder With all the action replay files and extract all the files from the WinRAR file and extract them to the same folder where the action replay files are. Once you've done that it should look like this.
The Files with the squares around them are the newly files you just extracted. Next Open CD/DVD Gen. And Put all the files in the folder of AR MAX into CD/DVD Gen to make it look like this:
(NOTE: I use ISO BUSTER so it would be quicker, But you use CD/DVD GEN)
Next, Click The Volume TAB, And Put The Disc Name As The SAME As The SLUS/SLES File. So if the SLUS/SLES FILE WAS SLUS_200.90 in the folder. Than Write the disc name AS SLUS 20090, Than Write the Producer name as PLAYSTATION And Lincence area as America/Europe (Where ever you live). It Should Look Something Like This:
Next Press FILE>IMPORT IML, And Choose to save it anywhere. (Either onto the Desktop or in a folder).
Next Open Apache2/IML2ISO/Any Program that converts IML to a ISO. Press File>Import IML. After that it will show all the files in the iml. Next Press FILE>BUILDISO. Let it Complete.
Finally, Open DVD Decrypter and Press MODE>ISO>WRITE, Open the NEW ISO you just made using Apache2/IML2ISO/ect and Write at 2-4x speed onto a dvd r and test it. Note: You need to follow these instructions on how to use.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE
Action Replay MAX EVO Edition - Swap Magic
Use the swap magic DVD to load the disc, after you loaded the game you will see a black screen with white writing. Move down and highlight the part that says
"RESET IOP." Using your D-pad set it to "ALWAYS" so in the end it will say
"RESET IOP: ALWAYS"
This MUST be done. Now press "X" and you will see this screen.
From this screen press "X" again and you will be taken to a screen that contains 8 Menu items, the first one says AR MAX EVO and it will be flashing, press X and now Action Replay MAX EVO will load. It may seem like nothing is happening, but just wait it takes about 20 seconds to boot up. If you have a Network Adaptor
it will ask you if want to check for updates. Just select "NO" for now. Now you have your AR MAX EVO fully booted up and you can mess around with it little to get the hang of it.
The background screen will tell you to change the disk, BUT DON'T! Select "Expert Mode" to see all the codes. Choose a game and the codes you want to use or add a game if you like. When you?re done press START and choose an option you will see a screen that says "Make sure your game disk is inside" but whatever you do, DO NOT EJECT THE DISK, this will prevent the codes from working on your back up. Just follow the procedure and start up the game.
5. Now you will be taken back to the screen that first came up when you started the disk. However, there is no need to change the IOP here, just press "X" again.
Now you?re back to this screen
There is different steps you have to take depending on whether your game is CD or DVD so look below.
PS2 CD: EJECT disk from your PS2 ( if you have a old ps2 press the eject button , if you have a slim ps2 take out one of the magic switch bits that is used to fool the ps2 into thinking the lid is closed then put the part back. ) and insert the official Swap Magic CD . Wait for the screen to change back to this one.
Now just SWAP the game with your CD back up using either the slide card or Flip Top Lid, press X to load and your DONE! The codes should now work.

Now just SWAP the SM disk with your DVD back up using either the Slide Card or magic switch and press "X" to load it and your DONE! Your back up DVD should now
Work with the codes you selected in Action Replay.
PLEASE READ: I am 100% sure that codes on DVD back ups will work, I have not tried any CD back ups, but I'm pretty
sure it does. Also when you using the Memory Max Manager, DO NOT USE IT TO DELETE OR MOVE SAVE FILES as this will delete EVERYTHING on your memory card. This is not an error on me, but actually DATEL?s screw up. You can still use Memory Max to crush files, which saves a ton of space. If you want to move or delete files on your mem cards just use the PS2 browser.

I dont have any of the pieces , im on a mod so i cant eject without the ps2 knowing no matter what. Or it will still work even if i dont have the pieces ???

Doesn't the modbo have some sort of an eject hack? I remember I had an old S-Box external mod and you had to hold in the eject button for a few seconds, so maybe that might work. I'm not too in the know about the clonies so I'm not sure if it will work.

No eject hack ... Clone chips just do what the original was supposed to do , but usually with less functionality, I'm not sure if any of the newer mods have the eject hack anymore , I only remember it being on the old v1-2 cd-r mods.

i have tried making the disk exactly as you said but all i get is ar max loading after using swap magic and there is no cades in expert mode

guess your chip just doesn't support cheat discs like mine does.
I just put in AR Max, go to expert mode, choose the game and
codes i want, then when it asks for a discs i stick in my back up.
It loads right up with codes.
The only other way i have done it is with a PS2 and Flip top
using swap magic and DVD Loader, but your chip would most likely stop you from being able to do this.
If you got an aftermarket flip top then turned off the chip and used
the flip top and swap magic i think it would work.
But that is just spending more money.
hopefully someone here who has the same set up and chip as you do may be able to tell you how they do it, if they figured out a way.

orion you should have read my comments to that strategy , it wont work for pure mods and no swap magic. That guy just posted the ARMaxEvo idea because he didnt read the full thread and posts it in every thread he sees AR mentioned.
I think a mod should just close this thread its gonna go no where and that one guy is just gonna keep asking random questions, probably a troll anyways. Thanks though steimy your reponses seemed logical, too bad my mod is crud.

i dont have a mod i use swap magic but when i put the disk in made as per the inscructions all i get is action replay load and there is not even any codes in it at that point i dont get non dvd loader screen or anything like that

is this a purchased version or AR Max?
If so then all the codes would be on the memory card (dongle) that came with it. They should be listed under "expert mode"
once the AR Max loads up.
You should have the memory card in slot 1, load the AR Max,
go to expert mode, then all the games should be listed.
Then you highlight a game and press X and you can go into it and turn on/off any codes you like.
Then you start the process of swapping between SWap Magic, DVD Loader, and your back up.
you do not need to burn the game in any special way to get it to work. I use to use mine with a flip top,Swap Magic, and DVD Loader
all the time and never burned the game in any special way.

I have the new thin PS2 and the infinity 1.33 mod I want to get my AR Maxto work with my backups my nephew has in the past killed a few originals so now I have moded my system and backed up my games how do I go about doing this please .
