hello ive had 1clickdvd with dvdforfree since sept and have had no problems until november it ripps fine but copies for about 7 hours to where before 20-30 mins then when its finally done i put it into dvd player and it reads disc error/check disc. i've had nero decode added but still does same thing ive cleaned with dvd laser lens cleaner and i've tried defragmenting nothing works the burner was bought new in sept. could it be defective? please someone have suggestions without me having to replace anything.thank you

if the PIO mode is not your problem and you're still in DMA mode then maybe you installed Nero with the InCD ..... I've heard that Nero InCD may cause a conflict with other burning programs. You might want to uninstall InCD and then do a registry clean up and then reboot, defrag and you might just be lucky again and be happily burning away!

HI MY BURNER WAS DOING THAT BEFORE Nero WAS INSTALLED BUT I DID DO THE DMA AND IT BURNS MUCH FASTER NOW BUT THE DISC DID READ ERROR IN MY DVD PLAYERS ALL 4 OF THEM IM USING THE IMATION DVD+R IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH THOSE? THE SONY'S SEEM TO WORK BUT NOT THE IMATIONS PLEASE REPLY AND THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THE DMA!!! HOPEFULLY ITS JUST THE IMATION DISC THATS NOT WORKING.

OH YEAH, HOW DO I UNINSTALL INCD IM NEW AT THIS JUST IN CASE I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW IM TRYING A SONY DISC TO SEE IF IT WORKS.

@wilmarae - pls turn off the SHOUTING, ie the CAP LOCK as it's loud and offends other forum users.
as to Imation discs pls see the relevant link in my sig for reasons NOT to use Imation media..
as to removing InCd - InCD is Nero's horrid 'packet writing software', uninstall Nero then uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools, then reinstall Nero WITHOUT installing InCD

i apologize for the bold lettering i didnt realize im new to the computer and dont understand some things like incd i dont know how to uninstall nero then renstall without incd if you could take me step by step or have a site that tells you how i would be greatful also if im speaking wrong tell me. i just have to get used to this thanks so much im still waiting ror someone to help me please respond.

no worries, i'm not here to scare you off :)
What you need to do is uninstall Nero normally ie from control panel's 'add/remove' screen. then remove Nero completely (as it leaves stuff behind) via Nero's Clean Tools; see here for the Clean Tools - http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/InCD_Clean_Tool.html
then reinstall Nero, bu this time don't install 'InCD'.
However, it would make more sense if we looked at a section of logfile, that way we see all or any potential problems in your setup, in the logfile and we should get you sorted in one fell swoop hopefully...
...let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.
You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

i think i messed up it removed my Nero smart start and the Nero recode is on the screen but wont come up i cant reinstall it because i didnt add it a friend did now i dont know what to do plus i copied earlier it was a little faster 2 hours instead of 6 or 7 but it still wouldnt play in dvd player i had to unplug it to get the disc out. i wonder whats wrong ps thanks for trying to help me

You might want to consider downloading DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink, both free programs and do a great job with backups.

Use the guide in my signature and you will be good to go.
