Can u play PS2 burnt games without a mod chip somehow?

hey im just wondering if any1 out there would know if you can play backedup/burnt games for the ps2 without a mod chip? would there be a way to decode it or sumthin so it would work without the modchip? and if not do yous know? thank you!

No, it can't be done.. the only other option you have than a modchip is swap magic discs and a modification to your ps2 console to stop it resetting. check out the link in my sig below for swap magic and what modification you can get for whcih console you have.

This question gets asked a lot by the way, and there are tons of threads on it... if you want to read up on a lot of stuff that you will NEED to know about in order to backup games, check out the link in my sig entitled FAQ's by Tokijin.

you have to mod your system to play back ups.

And that searching for your own answers is a lost art.
