I bought the above burner today and some verbatim dvd+r dl discs. Quick question. I become used to using dvd decrypter under "file mode - main movie and ifo's only" and then burning using dvdshrink and nero.

I want to backup my dvd-9 movies to the dvd+r dl discs so that I don't loose any quality. Can I still use decrypter/shrink the same way - or does anyone know of a faster (better) way.

Also, since this will be my second dvd drive on this system, is there a way to read the dvd in one player and burn it to this player and eliminate a lot of the time?

Thanks guys - you all are a great help!!!

No problem. Simply Decrypt and burn with Nero. No need to Shrink unless you want to put more than one movie on the DL disc. Regarding the 2 drives, this is a none issue really. Assuming your pc recognizes both drives (check the device mgr.), just have one drive read and the other to burn. Make one the primary and the other secondary. Most software allow you to choose which one reads and which one burns.

Thanks for the response, I understand now. Couple more questions however:

1) Can (or do) I continue to use decrypter under file mode and then write mode? Or is there a better way?

2) If I use both burners - one as a reader, the other as a burner, will the computer "copy" the disk like with cd's, or will the write burner have to decrypt the entire movie first and then begin to burn the movie with the other drive (thus taking just as long as having one drive?)

Thanks for all the help

Here is a great resource guide for you:

I use DVDdecrypter with the same settings that you do.
