I downloaded the program from my school computer and put it on my USB drive and just ran it on my computer. It fixed the host but the internet still isn't working with certain sites. Anything else you know that might work? Just please list all of my options so I can try all of them.

try http://www.bitdefender.com its an online virus scan it will delete and repair any viruses
only works with IE not firefox
Download WINPFIND.ZIP and extract it to your C:\ folder. This will create a folder called WinPFind
in the C:\ folder. Inside c:\WinPFind is a file called WinPFind.exe.
Double-click on this file to launch the program. Once it is launched,
click on the Start Scan button and wait for it to finish.
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer
for known patterns so please be patient while it works as it can
take a while.
When it is done, it will show the results of the scan.
Click on the Copy to Clipboard button and then paste the contents of the log in your next post.

I'm very sorry for "stoling" your idea ;)
And yes, make sure that PeerGuardian's HTTP block is disabled and try again accessing web sites.

just a little thought mr blaze, what i always do is have my hard disc partitioned so everything i have ever downloaded is backed up there so if i have to format my disc because of some problem like what youve got hey presto 5 years of work is not lost and mereley needs a few bits re installing.although i suppose it is made a bit easier with a 250 gig hard drive but its not too late to do it and lose nothing is it my friend?then format your disc and it may help with the banging your head against a wall problem
