I tried first with SONY DVD-R then with VERBATIM DVD-R @ speeds of 4x and 1X

So I take it that this is the stage where DVD Decrypter is trying to burn or write to your blank media right? If so, then check to make sure that your burner's firmware is the most latest. It looks like your media is dirty, therefore DVD Decrypter is rejecting (doesn't want to write on it).

Your current firmware is BSOS, go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1934 and download it to run and updates to the latest firmware. Updating or keeping your burner's firmware up to date is very useful, it will increase the burning performances and media compatibility.
