can someone guide me how to copy a copied ps2 game i have tried prince of presia 3 and did not manage i used dvd decrypter even on 2x speed with no luck the game starts and then stops or freezes i am using maxell dvd -r X8 media and i have a samsung dvd burner.THE PS2 I HAVE IS THE SMALL ONE AND IS CHIPPED I DO NOT HAVE SWAP MAGIC

Yes, you can do a re-backup another already burned game. It's super easy as before.
I recommend using DVD Decrypter to rip the ISO files first then burn:
- MODE, ISO, Read R to your hard drive (wait until it's completed)
- MODE, ISO, Write, choose the MDS File (to your burner)
- set your burning speeds at 4X only (now sit back and relax until it's successfully completed)
(*NOTE: make sure you use high quality media like genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "Advanced Azo" and Maxell (Hitachi - made in japan) -- these are my top 3 choices of media, they're all top notch. However, if the backup you're trying to copy is scratched and DVD Decrypter can't rip it, then try to have ISO Buster Pro to extract the ISO files into our hard drive, then burn it from there.
That's it.... easy as sippin' on a Corona.

You're welcome, glad I could help. (NOTE: make sure your Maxell says; "Made In Japan" on the spindle or wrapper). I've found out that sometimes DVD Decrypter will fail to rip because of certain degrees of scratches on the disc, and if I use ISO Buster Pro to extract the ISO files, then you'll get a success extracting them files into your hard drive.

making a back up from a burned discs should work the same
as from the original. Just do it the same way. And as alkohol
said, burn an 8X disc at 4X speed and you should get better results.
ISO->Read and ISO->Write should do the trick unless the back up
disc you are copying from has too many scratches or is not clean.

just another question do I need to have AnyDVD or DVD43 on before reading or writing?? or this applies only for dvd movies? sorry if this sounds stupid but i am green in this area.

AnyDVD is just for movie, a great program by the way.
It removes the protection and regions for you automatically.
And games do not have such protection.
the AnyDVD and CloneDVD combo is great for movies.
DVD Shrink and Nero work real good but if i use those i always
set it for really high quality so it takes like 3 hours to do
a movie.
But for games DVD Decrypter is all you really need most of the time.

sorry to butt in this is an interesting thread on how rebuilding works. So when you rebuild something using isobuster run through cdvdgen etc etc does that make a copy exact of the origional or does it strip out and change the file structure so you wouldnt have to go through all the rebuild again?
sorry just curious as to how a rebuild actually affects the backup file structure and stuff (can u tell i am bored today)

no luck again with Price of Persia 3, used dvd decryper and isobuster but when tried to play it just keeps on stopping on loading .I checked my maxell dvd -r are made in japan .The copy that I am coping from works fine on the ps2 and I do not think that it is scratched.Do you have any thoughts ? cause i am making too muh coasters!!!!!

*NOTE: I haven't done Prince of Persia 3 yet, but it can be done in some ways or another (if it's an original DVD9 PS2 game).
Now let me rephrase my questions again, so is your copy of Prince of Persia 3 an original PS2 game? If so, then you'll need to rebuild it. If it's "an already burned/copied disc" only, then you can have DVD Decrypter try to rip the ISO into your hard drive. Now, if DVD Decrypter failed to rip into your hard drive, then try to have ISO Buster 1.8 PRO to "extract" (ISO Buster 1.8 PRO is good for extracting scratches or dirty DVDs) the files into your hard drive and have DVD Decrypter or Nero Express burn it. And if ISO Buster 1.8 PRO failed to extract, then you may need to have Apache 2 to extract them files.

But according to what you wrote here, you stated that you have your PS2 chipped? Then you shouldn't need to rebuild it. Is it modchip? Have you ever played/tested any backup DVD9 PS2 games before? Has your PS2 console/with the chip you're currently have right now able to handle other PS2 backup games before? If so, what kind of modchip is it?

On a side note here, how fast (what speed) did you backup by a chance? I don't recommend going any faster than 4X.

if your friends disc is a copied disc, and it works in
your PS2, then there should be no reason to rebuild it.
If you have a decent chip (DMS4 or Matrix Infinity) you should never have to rebuild anything, not even DVD9.
If it is a copy, and works on your Ps2, then you should just have a strait up burn and it should work.
If it doesn't then it could be the media for one reason or another.
Either your burner is having problems with what your friend used
or with what you used. Or your PS2 just doesn't like the Maxcell DVD's.
Just because people tell you how great they are, doesn't mean that they will work for everyone.
Different burner/PS2's just like different media.
with the exception of Memorex which every burner/PS2 i have had
has rejected.
see if you can get a few differnt types of blank DVD's from
friends and try them out to see if any of them work.

I agree with steimy. If your PS2 is chipped, you don't even need to worry about rebuild or backing up them, you can even play DVD9 aka DVD+R DL backups. What kind of dvd burner do you have (ie model/brand/firmware)?
**NOTE: make sure your dvd burner?s firmware is up-to-date with the most current firmware available. Firmware plays a very important role in query to dvd burning -- it helps to increase the burning performances, media compatibility and it will be able to handle the latest manufacture?s media codes in prior to the burning process. So your burner can write to the media properly, instead of getting ?KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR?, ?INVALID_DISC? or getting ?coasters?, etc. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php to check on your burner?s firmware if there is any current available, or if you?re not sure that your burner?s firmware is the latest, download it to run and updates the firmware if necessary.

HOW DO YOU REBUILD AN ISO CAUSE I REBUILD ONE AND WHAT I ENDED UP WITH WAS A SMALLER DATA THAT IS IF DVD GAME HAD 4GB I ENDED UP WITH 2.5 GB AND WHEN I PUT IN PS2 IT ASKED FOR A DISK ??? I DO NOT KNOW WHY AND HOW I END UP WITH LESS DATA

do a search here for a tool called GNIE
it will rebuild the game for you.
You may still need a few programs installed for it to work
so if anyone who has used this can post them that would be great.
also TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK!!!!!!
that is concidered shouting and i am suprised that someone has
not already yelled at you for it.
