I have a modded slim PS2. Like the title says I have tried all the advised solutions I could find. None of the seem to work. I keep getting a blank/black screen. I use DVD Decrypter to burn my backups unto Ridata/Ritech DVD-R s. I have lowered the recording speed to 1x. I have tried rebuilding the iso with Isobuster and CDvdgen. I have played Ratchet Deadlocked, Jak X, and Resident Evil 4 with no problems so I don't think the problem with with my PS2s laser. I just got the PS2 last year. I'm not sure what else to do.

what speed are the DVD's. If they are 8X then 1X may be too slow and you may want to go with 4X instead.
as far as i can remember there is nothing special to burning
that game, should just be a strait 1:1 copy

Thanks for the reply. I use 8x DVD-R s. I'll try burning at 4x speed. I use DVD Decrypter to burn my dvds.

I have a Plextor PX-716a and a Sony DRU-510a. I burned the DVD with the Sony.

I upgraded the firmware on both my dvd burners & I tried to burn the backup again at 4x speed, but the backup still isn't working on the ps2. I still get the blank/black screen.

I figured out what the problem was! It was the modchip. I needed to upgrade the firmware on my Matrix Infinity Modchip. Now it works perfectly. Thanks for the help.
