Look on the box that came with the memory or look the brand up on newegg. Or go into the bios to see what the bios has automatically set for the timings. Unless ya have a factory puter then the bios aint gonna list cas or latency. Im not sue but I think sis sandra soft will list them!

Well theres first problem. A dell...eww! If ya running ddr2 in that thing its probally substandard as everything else. So I would think its a lost cause to try and squeeze any performance out of it. If anyone else would care to comment, but I think the best thing to do is rip the motherboard out of it and replace it with a good overclocking motherboard like epox or asus. I got my epox for less than 90 off of newegg. Its in my sig. If ya get a better motherboard that supports the cpu and ddr 2 memory you would be extremely happy. Unless ya use onboard video then ya gonna have to get a vid card as well. Bfg makes a nice pci x card for bout 350.00 thats overclocked right out of the box! Have fun...but ya cant tweak or overclock with a factory mobo. Time to start ripping and modifyuing!:>

Well then ya on the right road. Go buy a mobo and that will help extremely.:>

This should get ya on the right road to stardom

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131578

Supports ddr2 and the bus speed of ya current chip. Ya got to check the psu and make sure the substandard dell has a 24 pin connector for the mobo. If not adapters are available. Plus this board they have a combo special for a burner. Correct me if im wrong, but i think ya cpu is 775 socket.

as oz said without a good mobo you are screwed....your lucky you are getting as good of performance as you say your getting....if you want better graphic performance for nfs most wanted you need to get a better graphics card or new mobo and oc the s--t out of it...buying new memory helps but there are alot of factors....mobo,memory,graphic cards,ps,etc.....its like a car,you can buy a yugo for real next to nothing or you can buy a lambergini.you have a yugo and mine is getting there....i would save my money bro and start with the mobo as oz said and work from there.the performence will be between night and day....swap the mobo...rip and install....peace

A good benchmark score means that you can play most games at reasonable frame rates and resolution. If all that you do is word processing and surfing the net, then these scores don't mean a thing. I'm into video encoding and editing and nothing makes a system sound "howdy", "like I'm there" a mean and lean AMD 64 bit socket 939 machine, using any of the new cores such as the Venice, San Diego, Manchester, and Toledo cores. They require low voltages, are easy to cool, and can be over clocked to 4 times their purchase value.

If you're into gaming, then you're going to have to give the same consideration to buying a graphics card that you did buying your CPU (over clocking speeds)and it's going to cost you money. If you're still using AGP cards all is not lost but you're going to have to upgrade everything that you can to play the latest games. I didn't build my system to play games, I built it to be fast and if it meets that standard, then it will play games. The question here is how well does your system rate?
