I have browsed this site for about 3 weeks now and decided it was time for a first post newbie to come out of it's shell

I've browsed many topics and used the search function I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong I've made about 12 coasters using 4 diffrent kinds of DVD media

Fuji -R
Maxell +R
Memorex -R
Memorex +R

I downloaded Need for speed most wanted BE and I have 2 files and 1 folder like mentioned in another post like this

I have all the programs I need I belive

smart start Nero
Alcohol 120%
CloneDVD
DVD decrypter
CDwin
Apache 2.0
Cdvdgen1.5 and 2.0
Magiciso
isobuster

I tried them all and can't seem to get a valid ps2 disk when I use swap magic 3.6 this is my first time and I did read the sticky's
And tried following a few basic procedures.

I would like to know exactly what you did to make a working copy of this game I know all games are diffrent but I read this game did not need to be rebuilt and ppl said it worked on maxell dvd media

The error I get Is "Not a valid PS2 disk"
When I first started I did get it to reconize the disk but then it blink red then would go into a black screen and stay in NTSC but on PAL and NORMAL it would have a scrolling effect on a black screen with white lines but now It won't even do that

If anybody could help me I would greatly appreciate it
Thanks for your time

If your down to files like that, you extracted your download too far. There should have been a .iso at 1 point.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Well I found the main .iso file unl-nfsmwb.iso and I tried burning it with DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120% Now it reconizes it's a ps2 disk

I go into Swap magic swap the disks it blinks red (like it's supposed to I think) But then stays on a black screen I let it sit for like a minute and a half and I got nothing
Could it be my media or burner ? I know I changed some settings in some of the programs does anybody know what the correct settings are for say DVD Decrypter,Alcohol 120 or Nero if Nero I need to know what I exactly have to do because I'm not sure I have a full version since I saw a screen shot with more options then I have.

Thanks for your help so far.

These are all the files that were Downloaded into my folder when I first downloaded it except the .iso I extracted it from the .rar file in the folder

If all I need is the .iso why are all these other files with the .rar/.iso file

Sorry, I don't burn downloaded games and or I've never mess with downloaded stuff, that's not my style. If you do a search on how to burn Rar files, or how to extract rar files into ISO, then you'll eventually come across Hursty's guide. He's got a really good guide on that one.

Good luck!!

In query to your media, the Memorex sucks big time, especially if its MID code is CMC MAG. However, if your FUJI and Maxell +R are both "Made In Japan", then they're high quality media, other than that, I wouldn't buy anything else that's not Made In Japan.

Go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544 for more info on High Quality media scans vs CMC MAG aka Memosux and other unknown media brands.

ok, first get rid of the Memorex as they are the worst
media you could get to do games. Save them for movies as they
may work for that.

When you get WinRAR did you extract the file:
unl-nfsmwb.r00?
that is what you should extract.
If you did and got what you show a picture of then you will have to get someone who has the game to give you the file order.
You will have to rebuild the ISO and then burn it.
There are also plenty of rebuilding tutorials on this site.
If you have 4X media then burn it with DVD Decrypter set to 1X
If they are 8X then set it to 4X
I would try the -R first as i have better luck with those, but
have never used any of those brands, other than when i tried a few
Memorex a friend gave me and had no luck at all.
I know Maxcell +R worked good for my movies, but i have not tried a game on one.
Another tip is avoid printable media and RW media
they also do not have great success rates
Verbatim, TDK,Philips,Taiyo Yuden,Ritek
those seem to be the most popular brands.

@steimy - Memorex (a good proportion of them anyway) aren't any good for movies either :}
