Hi Everybody
I have read a lot of posts here in this forum about problems backing up Madagascar,Stealth,Bewitched,Hitch and so on. I backed up all this movies with no problems. I only use Dvd Shrink to rip and transcode if it won't fit on single layer (DVD5 Disc) to my hard drive and AnyDvd running in the background. I use Nero (OEM) to burn to a blank disc. I have backed up over a hundred of my own movies with no coaster so far. My computer is 8 yrs. old but I can back up movie with a pretty good speed. It's a Pentium 3 500 megahertz with only 224 megabytes of memory.
Without compression my computer can back up a movie (movie only)rip to HD 10-15 minutes and burn to blank media 10-15 minutes total time 20-30 minutes. With compression 85%-90% takes 35-40 minutes, 75%-85% 40-45 min, 60%-75% 50-1 hr plus 10-15 min to burn.

Hi
I only use good quality disc like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. When I back up my movie I close all running programs and screen saver and I don't burn faster than 4x speed. When I use DVD Shrink I disable preview and I don't multi task. Everything should run smothly.
