I still can't believe that there are people like you who ask the question of how to backup PS2 games. SEARCH YOU n00b!!! I doesn't hurt anybody if you search the forums, per se, the PS2 General Discussion Forum.

There is tons and tons and hundreds threads and even a sticky on how to backup, rebuild and patch PS2 games.

When I posted, I was reffering to that guy who posted off topic, not you. If you're looking for Swap Magic for slim PS2:
http://modchip.com/ps2/v12slimkit.php
or if you prefer:
http://modchip.com/ps2/v12fliptop.php

As for HD Loader, you believe you can't use that on a slimline PS2. You'll have to use USB Extreme (if you have a V12), so you'll have to buy an external hard drive (which mean more $$):

http://www.modchipstore.com/USB-eXtreme-External-Hard-Drive-Loade...

There are ways to run a internal hard drive on a slimline PS2, but that will cost you about $50 for the adapter and $50-$100 for the chip that you need, so it isn't worth it unless you have that chip.

BTW, that last site I used was a reference, I've seen many other sites with cheaper prices, but that one just has the most clear description.

Ok, playing back ups on a slim is no different from the old style.
You have to mod your system (slimtool/magic switch) and get Swap Magic, an aftermarket flip top and Swap Magic.
Or the best chioce a mod chip (DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinty)
Or buy a system already premoded with a chip.
If you get a chip, and it is a V12, then get a laser fix too!
Summone or Comsoft V4

You can use a HDD with a slim PS2, but it will have to be an external
USB HDD, and you will not use HD Advance, you will use
USB Extreme. But the game compatibilty may be about 75% from what
i hear. The older style PS2 you can use an internal and HD Advance.

people need to learn how to write in complete sentences, and in
somewhat english. it is so hard to understand some of these posts and what people are even asking.

Oh, and it is Ghost Switch, not Ghost Chip that you use with Swap Magic.

The reason people get upset is that everything i have just told you can be found by searching these forums. No one ever looks for their own answers, they are just too lazy and want everything handed to them on a silver platter. it upsets people because the have to spend their time answering the same questions over..and over... and over for years on end because no one seems to know what the search feature is for.

Nicely said, Steimy. BTW, I found a website with a great pre-modded PS2 slimline deal. For $229.99, you get a slimline PS2 with laser fix (free), your choice of modchip (DMS4 Lite $44.99, DMS4 Pro $54.99, or Matrix Infinity $49.99), choice of extended 1 year warranty ($59.99), AND an extra PS2 controller and an 8mb memory card.

So basically, one of these with a DMS4 Pro WITHOUT warranty is $284.98

http://www.modchipman.com/premodded-pstwo-plus-edition-p-605.html

(BTW it include everything the original slimline has like cables, manuals, etc.)

psst...if you looked at my post you'd see that not all modded PS2's are $399, if ever. If you're willing to dish out an extra about $100, then just go to the website I posted.
