Hi,
I'd just like to say that I have read a lot of posts on this issue but I think my situtation may be slightly more unusual.
I've recently bought a professionally installed Matrix Infinity PS2 (SCPH-75003)
I am trying to backup Singstar Popworld. Every copy (about 6 now) I have made boots fine and loads the game. The problems comes when you try to cycle through the song list. Certain songs will not play and hang the game. Every burn hangs at different songs so its very frustrating.
I have tried Sony +R (D11) and Sony -R. I have also tried three different drives, a Sony DU18A, a Plextor 504A and a Pioneer 110D. I have also used various firmware fixes to enable bitsetting on all these drives and set the book type to dvd-rom. I've tried various burn speeds and Nero and DVDDecrypter.
I suppose my main questions/ concerns are:
1) Does V14 have a preference to -R or +R?
2) Does V14 need the +R's set to DVD-ROM.
3) Would a change in media improve things? I thought that cheap media just wouldn't work on the PS2 whereas my burns appear to be working for a substancial part of the game.
4)Is it possible that most burns that people have said are succesful on the V14, may have faults further into the disc. Singstar seems to be a good test as the song selection screen accesses all parts of the disc to play back the song.
I am basically concerned that this latest version of the PS2 may not be easy to play backups with espcially as the D11's that i have used, I thought, were considered to be of good quality.
Thanks
Vic
