Therein lies the potential problem. Memorex media is not thought of very well at this forum as it produces by and far inferior burns.

The QC on the media is very poor with uneven dye spread in the press which causes freezes, pixelations, blurs etc.

Visit the DVD media forum and you can get an idea of what is recommended, as well as what is the top of the line media.

that's the problem.... Memorex should be renamed to MemoSux!!!! get yourself some real media with good standings like: Verbatum, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell to name a few! here is a media guide to help you out: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
you can check out what manufacturer Id you disk has by using DVDInfo Pro or DVDIdentifier.... both have free versions..... you can get them by looking them up at the software tab on top of page!

I'm not saying that all your problems will go away with better media.... but you can eliminate the most often, understimated problem of bad media. This might be your culprit!

Listen to IHoe. He is right memorux is a rotten media. Stay away from it if you want perfect burnt. Try better dvd media like verbratim, taiyo yuden or maxell that made in japan and you are on your way to a happy burnt dvd.

Agree with Mort re: Verbatim MIT = super. Now On sale at OfficeMax at $14.99 for #50. Only media I like better are the Fuji MIJ = TY that once in a while go on sale at Staples.

Have only used the Verbatim 8X till now, as burn movies at 4X and didn't need to pay extra for faster blanks. Now that 16X have gone on sale, I will try them out.
