hello i just baught a laptop hdd and i know this is not the right topic and i have to know how to connect a desktop ide hard drive to a laptop hdd connector like build your own laptop to desktop hard drive converter or just take it apart and reconnect stuff but please helllpp me i have till tomorow to do this i have a meeting [at 7 am] and i need to use my laptop but it is a ibm so when i boot up it has that code meaning no operating sys found and it is my only laptop and does not boot from cd and i do not have a floppy please help

im sorry dude, i just found out that i have 2 extra days to do it, but i live in illinois and i dont want to bother with getting it off the internet [like ebay] just not the time and my neighbor broke his walking it over and, yea it is a total nightmare my dad was gonna ship me his but did not find it and my boss said i can have up to 5 days if i desperrately need them and some idiot messed with my visa so i cant really charge stuff and i never write checks for online stuff no matter how safe they claim it is

No operating sys found eh? Did you set the drive with Windows XP as primary and the new one to secondary? Also, you gotta format new hard drives. Other than that, I wasn't very sure what you're problem is cuz your whole post was one sentence.

sorry, i messed up win 98. then it would not start so i formatted the drive and i get this number that means no os found, i can not boot from cd but i found out i dont need to have a meting anymore thanks to the weather, hahaha

so i just need a way to boot from cd on a pc that does not allow that in the bios and without a floppy drive, or i need to hook it up to a desktop
